Have you just bought a new ATV, aka 4-wheeler, but don't know where to ride? Follow these simple instructions to help you enjoy you ATV time a little better.

If you don't have anywhere to ride, try making some trails If you have woods behind your house, start there.

Check the land around your house for trails you didn't know were there.

Once you find a trail, you should check it to make sure it is suitable for your ATV (check wideness, brush density, and for roots and debris on the ground.

Make adjustments to your trail . A fanny pack that attaches to the cargo rack of your ATV would be a great idea to carry gear in. Extra gloves, spare socks (for mudslinging), and maybe some snacks and something to help you stay hydrated.

Tips

  • For obvious reasons, you should always wear a helmet.
  • Be sure that your size ATV can handle any hills or obstacles that may be in your way.

Warnings

  • Be sure not to trespass on anybody's land.
  • Watch for open fields during hunting season as a hunter could mistake you for a deer.
